Savannah, Georgia (2003 – aktuell)

Baroness, gegründet im Jahr 2003, ist eine Progressive-Metal-Band aus Savannah, Georgia, deren Mitglieder zusammen in Lextington, Virginia, aufwuchsen. Sänger John Baizley ist als unabhängiger Künstler verantwortlich für das Artwork von Baroness sowie von vielen weiteren Bands(z.B Kvelertak, Kylesa oder Darkest Hour). Ihr 2007 erschienenes Red Album wird in den meisten Kritiken gelobt und wurde vom Revolver Magazin zum besten Album des Jahres 2007 erkoren. 2009 erschien das zweite Album namens Blue Record.

    What I really meant is that baroness can't do shitty music, seriously, they're all so talented that I find it almost impossible for them to release an album that sucked. What I really meant is, even if they do hip hop or salsa, they would do it right.

    i love the new song. i thought it was just ok at first, but after listening to it a bunch it sounds great. i think the reason a lot of people try and pigeon hole and lump these guys in with other bands and sounds is simply because there are a lot of other bands coming out right now doing something similar. that being said....none of it sounds like baroness. red fang sounds like mastodon, torche sounds KINDA like mastodon.... baroness does NOT sound like mastodon..baroness sounds like baroness. the new song doesnt sound like a "watered down mastodon song". it just sounds like different baroness

IsaacMG, I'm not saying you are, I'm saying that with ANY band, you have to be prepared to say "Sorry guys, this is shit". If this album turns out to be shit, don't be a 'fanboy' and proclaim it to be the shit and that anyone who dislikes it just doesn't appreciate good music, just be honest.

    I'm no fanboy. It's Baroness, the new thing still sounds like Baroness, goddamn, the singer is still Baizley and I love his voice. Yeah, throw my bones away may sound mediocre, but it's normal: it's the first single, it has to sound accesible. Anyway, it's one song of... 18 new songs... well, if we don't count intro's and outro's 'n shit, let's say... 14 songs. I have high expectations, and I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
