ABOUT THE KUT

Inspired by bands like Deftones, L7, Hole, Incubus, Tool, Placebo, Nirvana, Faith No More and others, The Kut are a rock trio born from the alternative scene. Having been voted into in the winning spots for MTV UK Brand New Unsigned 2014 Poll, their ‘Make Up’ EP was produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / My Vitriol / Page & Plant / Def Leppard), featuring 3 brand new tracks plus 2 previous releases ‘DMA’ and ‘Closure’. The 2014 record saw immense support from Scuzz TV, BBC Introducing, Kerrang! Planet Rock, Kerrang! Radio, AXS, MTV-U, Putpat TV, Vevo and 16 cable channels across the USA.

Their forthcoming 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP is a quicker than expected follow up to the 'Make Up' EP, and includes horror pop halloween single 'I Want You Maniac'. Alekhine's Gun is second single from the 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP, out 13th April. The Kut release their latest single 'I Don't Need Therapy' on Monday 6th April, which "is about rejecting the ill advice that people try to ram down your throat in the guise of helping you out." The track mixes riot grrrl grunge with contageous riffage and is soon to be accompanied by forthcoming video, produced by Mike Gripz (Boy Better Know / Frisco).

The single is the third from the 'Rock Paper Scissors' EP, with the full record scheduled for release on Monday 13th April via Criminal Records. The EP was again produced by James LeRock Loughrey (Skindred / White Zombie / Def Leppard). Lead vocalist Maha postulated that Rock Paper Scissors "probably has the closest resemblance to the material we've been playing out on the live sets this last year".

The debut single from the EP 'I Want You Maniac' was added to the playlists of MTV-U and AXS TV.  These US channels joined major UK support from Scuzz TV, Planet Rock, BBC Introducing and Jim Gellatly's New Music Showcase among others. The EP has also been played out in the clubs including Club NME and Medication.
