@cherrybomb66. I don't hear a single lyric on this album that puts down "The American Soldier". I assume you're referring to "Be the Hero". IMHO, that song has nothing to do with "The American Soldier". It is a satirical jab at the attitude that some people have about fighting war. (and yes, some soldiers have that attitude, but the attitude that is being put down is not exclusively shared by certain soldiers) It's a jab at ANYONE who looks for personal glory in the act of killing the enemy.

Moore has said in interviews that the first album doesn't have a particular political agenda. Lyrically Moore writes about things he has experienced in his life (in this case 9/11): his lyrics are more "a reaction" to events than specific commentary (http://www.tmetal.com/DefaultN1.asp?GoTo=InterviewN2.asp?ID=222). I can't think of anywhere where he "puts down the American Soldier".

Daniel Gildenlow is a jerk, his place is on Pain of Salvation and things like Flower Kings, but this group it's out of his style.

Same happened when I listened Free for the 1st time. Didn't like it, but when I heard Blood, I started to like OSI.

I just feel that they would have been able to do more with a vocalist as versatile as Daniel. Kevin's distorted vocals work on some songs, but I think they ruin others (Our Town would have been good with clean singing) But of course it is his decision.

Daniel Gildenlow isn't overrated. Also, DT, PoS, Opeth, Chroma Key, PT, all rock. [2]

I love the most that every album is different, yet still awesome. I like Free the most, but due to only personal reasons.

This band is definately one of my favourites. I don't really like the guys' stand alone projects or original bands at all like DT, Fates Warning or Chroma Key but together they are great. Kevin's vocals make this band what it is and with Daniel's vocals the band would be completely different. I mean, I know a lot of better vocalists than Kevin Moore but they would bring totally different feeling to the band.

Kevin is a good vocalist, but I really can't believe Matheos decided for him over DANIEL GILDENLOW! It would have been amazing with Danny involved, a shame...

It's not O.S.I., it's OSI. There are no periods on any of their artwork, the wikipedia article is for OSI, and it's OSI on iTunes. Anyway - great music :)

The mix up between the band and the Israeli singer could easily be fixed: Change the band's name so it is correct (as in O.S.I. not OSI). Look on the packaging and you'll notice they use the correct grammar and as is required with acronyms, there is proper punctuation. Feel free to reference R.E.M. or I.E.M. for bands that also use acronyms correctly.
